RIISS00056 Traffic Management Designer

This course provides training for workers who are required to select, modify or design traffic management plans and traffic control guidance plans for road works, produce major upgrades of standard plans and/or inspect traffic control plans on road construction sites. All training and assessment is carried out by SafeWork NSW approved trainers and assessors.

Introduction

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills to select, modify and develop a traffic management plan including traffic control guidance plans for roads and motorways. It provides the knowledge and skills to work safely in the traffic management industry.

On successful completion of this course you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for:
RIIRIS402D - Carry out the risk management process
RIICWD503E - Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes

The course fees include all classroom assessments, project assessments and fees associated with receiving your SafeWork NSW Card.

Targeted Audience

This course is designed for persons responsible for developing traffic managment plans or traffic guidance schemes.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand site visits and risk assessments
  • Obtain permits and approvals
  • Understand the TCAWS
  • Prepare a traffic management plan
  • Prepare a traffic guidance scheme
  • Undertake a client review process

Learning Methods

This course is delivered by face-to-face classroom delivery over two (2) days. You will be provided with all of the resources and learning materials needed to complete this course. You will practice your skills before undertaking any assessments. Assessments are completed in two phases. Phase one is undertaken on the training day and phase two is undertaken via a take home project to be submitted to your assessor within three (3) calendar months of your final training day.
